Know Your Candidates Series | Lake County Commissioner Gale Decker

Welcome to our 2018 candidates series starting September 14th leading up to the election in November where we will be co-hosting a biweekly Get to Know Your Candidates series with LCRCC.

Gale Decker will be our first speaker on September 14th, he is the candidate for Lake County Commissioner.

"To My Fellow Montanans,

I have served six years as your County Commissioner and am seeking your support as I run for re-election. Lake County is at a crossroads in its history and the survival of your County Government hangs in the balance. The present Commission is currently tackling problems and issues that have been unresolved in the past, but now must be confronted. Solutions are possible and can be reached if all people and governments listen to each other, value transparency and respect each other's position. We are blessed to live in one of the most beautiful and community-minded places in America and must strive to preserve for future generations what our generation has been able to enjoy."

Gale Decker was born and raised in Lake County. His particular interests in County government include land planning, environmental health and property tax relief. He taught in the Ronan School District for 33 years. Following retirement from the school system, Mr. Decker served as Lake County Superintendent of Schools for six years before being elected to the Commissioners’ Office in 2012.

Lori Thibodeau | Supervisor on Adult Probation & Parole Process

Our Pachyderm Club speaker for August 24th is Lori Thibodeau, Supervisor, Polson Regional Office, Adult Probation & Parole, MT Dept. of Corrections. She will explain how Adult Probation & Parole fits into the Lake County Justice System especially with a full jail.

Ms. Thibodeau has 20 years experience with Adult Probation & Parole.

Pachyderm Meeting | Ryan Gage, CPA Explains Trump Tax Reform

Ryan Gage will give an explanation of President Trump's Tax Reform as a certified public accountant with years of experience in tax law. Come out to learn more about the changes to the nation's tax code.

In his career, Ryan worked for Ernst and Young, one of the big 4 Accounting firms for 5 years in Indianapolis. Before becoming an accounting auditor on big clients such as Simon Property Group (Largest REIT in the US) and FinishMaster (largest automotive paint distributor in the US), as well as many other small companies. He also owns a manufacturing company with two partners out of Utah.

After years of highly successful accounting and auditing experience, Ryan moved to Polson about 8 years ago with his wife Krista where he started Gage Accounting, P.C. He has a family of four children and in his spare time loves to golf, hang out on the lake and coach youth sports.
